Liverpool coaching staff member leaves club for Morocco after eight years

Harrison Kingston has left his position as Liverpool's head of post-match analysis to join the Moroccan Football Federation.

Kingston had been in the role with the Reds for more than eight years having joined from Burnley in August 2012.

As reported on the Training Ground Guru website, his job title with Morocco will be Director of Performance Analysis and Framework.

Kingston had worked alongside first-team post-match analyst Mark Leyland, who followed him from Burnley in 2013, in preparing video clips for use by Jurgen Klopp with his players.

Klopp and his coaching staff have regularly discussed the importance of such analysis both before and after matches.

And explaining his role in 2018, Kingston said: “We're a part of the decision-making process. Our job really is to provide enough help, support and evidence – both from a team perspective and individuals – for the coaching staff to ultimately make a decision.

“There's a lot of time where we'll do countless hours of work – and it's part of our job and we accept it – to turn around one video clip or sometimes it might not even get shown.

“One of the best things about Jurgen and his staff is that they take this work and shorten it down into key messages to what the player can do to help them.”
