Jürgen Klopp’s imminent arrival as Liverpool manager has resulted in Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister losing their jobs as assistant manager and first team coach respectively. The head of performance, Glen Driscoll, and head of opposition analysis, Chris Davies, are also leaving the club.
The pair, who joined Liverpool only in the summer following an overhaul of Brendan Rodgers’ backroom staff, have been informed they are not part of Klopp’s plans for his coaching team at Anfield. The 48-year-old’s former assistant at Borussia Dortmund, Zeljko Buvac, and analyst Peter Krawietz are to join the German coach once his appointment as Rodgers’ successor is confirmed.
The former Bournemouth manager O’Driscoll was persuaded by Rodgers to leave a coaching position at the Football Association this summer, with the former Liverpool manager seeking to go “in a new technical direction” having parted company with long-time assistant Colin Pascoe and first-team coach Mike Marsh.
McAllister – who, like O’Driscoll, was on a one-year rolling contract – has also lost his job in the reshuffle although may yet be offered a new role at Liverpool.

Pepijn Lijnders, the highly rated coach who was promoted from Liverpool’s youth academy to the first-team ranks this summer, has been retained, however.
