Liverpool coach Thomas Gronnemark could join Premier League rivals

Liverpool's special throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark has suggested he could work with one of the Reds' Premier League rivals next season.

The Dane has been working on a freelance basis with Jurgen Klopp 's side for the past 18 months and his arrival on Merseyside was initially ridiculed by some.

However, Liverpool have significantly increased their ability to retain possession following throw-ins since he started working with the team, as he has taught the squad that it is a more important aspect of the game than many believe.

Despite the success of his ideas in the Liverpool squad, the door has not been closed to a move that would see Gronnemark move to a rival club next season.

"I don't know, maybe I'll be with Tottenham or Manchester United next year, as I'm not tied down as a freelancer," he told Kicker.

“I’m just not allowed to be a direct competitor in any one season, that’s my rule. That’s why I have already turned down a top offer from England this season. But I would very much like to prove myself in Germany. I don’t know of anyone who does it professionally like I do.

“But of course more and more people are recognising the potential, and now some co-trainers are looking into the subject.”
