Liverpool coach sends message to Jurgen Klopp's squad following role in Wolves win

Roberto Firmino scored the winner for Liverpool against Wolves on Thursday night.

A cute assist from captain Jordan Henderson saw the ball threaded into the path of the Brazilian who placed his shot beyond Rui Patricio.

The Reds capitalised from a Trent Alexander-Arnold throw-in on the right flank which led to Firmino's 84th minute finish.

Since the arrival of specialist coach Thomas Gronnemark in 2018, Liverpool have vastly improved at taking throws.

Gronnemark, who also coaches Ajax on a freelance basis, has helped improve the Reds awareness and technique when throwing the ball.

After the final whistle the Dane shared a message with Liverpool fans on social media.

He wrote: "Well done boys. Proud of being a part of this team... you have proven that a throw-in is more than a throw-in".

It's not the first time Jurgen Klopp's team have benefited from their improved throw taking techniques.

In the Reds' 1-0 against Tottenham last month Firmino scored the only goal of the match after a savvy throw-in was taken in the build-up.
