Positive Covid tests have risen in the Liverpool City Region again.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the Liverpool City Region recorded 5,242 positive tests in the week ending August 12 - 161 more cases than the previous seven days.
This means the week on week percentage change increase was 3%.

Four separate areas of the city region recorded rises - Knowsley, Halton, St Helens and Sefton. Out of these four areas, St Helens recorded the biggest week on week percentage change of 14%.
Liverpool and Wirral recorded decreases in infections.
Cheshire West and Chester recorded an increase in infections, and Warrington and West Lancashire had a drop in positive cases.
Infections increased in England. In the week ending August 12, the country had 172,437 coronavirus cases, which is 7,048 more cases than the week before.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,797 cases in the week ending August 12, which is 22 fewer cases than in the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 1%.
The latest infection rate was 359.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 386 positive tests over the last week, which is two more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change increased by 1% in the week ending August 12. The latest infection rate is 297.5 cases per 100,000 people.
Knowsley
There was a total of 607 cases in the week ending August 12, which is 59 more cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 398.2 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 11% week on week.
Wirral
There were 916 positive tests in the week ending August 12, which is 13 fewer cases than in the previous week. Wirral's week-on-week percentage change decreased by 1%. The latest infection rate was 282.4 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There were 693 positive tests in the week ending August 12, which is 83 more cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate was 382.7 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change in St Helens increased by 14%.
Sefton
There was a total of 843 cases in the week ending August 12, which is 52 more cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 305.5 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 7% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 5,242 positive tests over in the week ending August 12, which is 161 more cases than in the previous week.
This means the week on week percentage change increased by 3%. The latest infection rate is 307.86 cases per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
West Lancashire recorded 260 coronavirus cases in the week ending August 12, which is 85 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
There was an infection rate of 227.08 per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage decrease of 25% in infections.
Warrington
There were 670 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 12, which is 11 fewer cases than the previous week.
The week on week percentage figure decreased by 1%. There was an infection rate of 319.97 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 924 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 12, which is 48 more cases than the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 268.74 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 6% in cases.
England
In England in the week ending August 12, there was an infection rate of 304.93 per 100,000 people.
The nation recorded 172,437 coronavirus cases, which is 7,048 more cases than in the previous seven days.
There was a week on week percentage increase of 4% in cases.
