Liverpool City Council confirm supporter return decision for Everton and Liverpool

Liverpool City Council have confirmed Everton and Liverpool supporters will be allowed into the next home games played at Goodison Park and Anfield respectively.

Liverpool were placed into Tier 2 of the new government coronavirus lockdown system last month meaning 2,000 supporters could attend Premier League matches on Merseyside for the first time since March.

And after a review by the Ground Safety Advisory Group, Liverpool City Council published the decision on Wednesday.

"#BreakingNews: #Liverpool City Council's Ground Safety Advisory Group has recommended a limited return of fans to next home games for @LFC & @Everton," a statement posted on Twitter read.

"Official approval of amended safety certificate due tomorrow

"Fans encouraged to take #COVID19 test on match day."

Everton fans will be in place for the visit of Chelsea on December 12. Liverpool return to Anfield in front of their supporters against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Sunday.
