It is based at 64 Lord Street next door to RealBuzz and will offer its customers its usual food-on-the-go including its pasties, sausages rolls and more.

Inside there will also be seating for customers who do wish to eat straight away.

Hot and cold sandwiches, soups and sweet treats will also be available. Like many of Greggs stores breakfast will also be served until 11am.

It opened its doors this morning at 6am, but for those who are yet to visit the store, the ECHO was invited to take a look inside.

Roisin Currie, retail and people director for Greggs, said: "We're delighted to be able to invest in Liverpool, bringing new jobs to the area and providing both new and existing customers with a modern and convenient new shop."

It will be open seven days a week. 6am-8pm Monday-Saturday and 8.30am-6pm on Sunday.

Greggs is currently in the process of undergoing a major refurbishment to its Castle Street store which is also based in the city centre.
