Many shoppers could be seen sporting face masks while out and about, due to new guidelines brought about as a result of surging Omicron cases.

In England, face coverings are now required by law in most indoor public places and on public transport, including taxis, unless people are exempt.

Church Street has been particularly busy, with crowds of shoppers making their way to high street favourites like Primark, Lush, Marks and Spencer and more.

Further into Liverpool ONE, there were queues of people lining up to enter stores and snap up some final festive purchases.

Unsurprisingly, Zara has been busy with fashion lovers eager to get their hands on its coveted goodies.

Market traders have also been attracting people to their stalls before all goes quiet tomorrow.

The streets are sure to be packed again on Boxing Day on Sunday when the sales are in full force.
