Liverpool's scheduled Champions League match against FC Midtjylland on December 9 could be under threat due to new UK travel restrictions.
The Reds, who currently top Group D in the competition having won all three of their games so far, are due to travel to Denmark next month for what would be their final match of this stage of the tournament.
However, the UK Government has recently put a travel ban on the Scandinavian country due to a new strain of coronavirus mutating from mink farms coming to light.
England's upcoming Nations League game against Iceland may also have to be played at a neutral venue due to the fact Iceland are due to play Denmark three days earlier, meaning they would be unable to travel to Wembley.
Normally in cases such as this elite sports teams are given an exemption, but on this occasion the Government have decided that there will be no alternatives to the rule, with guidance from parliament reading: "Unlike other travel to the UK, there will be no exemptions to this quarantine policy."
It is not clear exactly when a decision will be made regarding Liverpool's fixture, but the new Denmark ban is already causing chaos ahead of the upcoming international break.
The Premier League have advised clubs not to release players if there is a mandatory period of quarantine of at least five days from the country they go to.
All players who represent Denmark will have to self-isolate upon their return, and as a result the likes of Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel are likely to be blocked from playing by their respective clubs.
Liverpool beat Midtjylland 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Anfield, with Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah getting the goals.
