Liverpool are "continuing to study" the possibility of expanding Anfield even further, according to Reds chairman Tom Werner.
The Reds built their new Main Stand in the summer of 2016, opening it in a fixture against then-Premier League champions Leicester City in September of that year.
That took the ground up to an official capacity of 53,394, although there have long been suggestions that the club will look to increase even further to push towards a capacity of over 60,000.
With the Reds in their second successive Champions League final and having just produced their best-ever Premier League season, demand for tickets for home matches has never been greater.
And Werner says that tentative steps have already been taken to expand the stadium, which will likely see the next stage of its development on the Anfield Road side of the ground.
“We are continuing to study the feasibility of it,” Werner told the Liverpool Echo .
“We have outline planning permission to proceed if we do move forward and that outline permission is good until September.
“We're continuing to examine potential options and we will probably look at it again in the weeks after the final.”
In a wide-ranging interview with the Echo, Werner also touched on Jurgen Klopp's future at the club .
“We don't really want to discuss his situation publicly, especially so close to the final," he said.
“But I think you know that we think the world of him. We have already extended his contract once.
“All I can say is that it's obviously important that he stays for as long as he likes. We believe that he's committed to Liverpool .”
