Liverpool cat given kiss of life after 30 minutes on spin cycle

A Liverpool cat has been branded a "miracle" after surviving 30 minutes in a washing machine cycle.

Courtney Drury from Liverpool appeared on This Morning today, to speak about her four-month old kitten Posey's ordeal.

Carer Courtney, 22, said she put the washing machine on, on 30 degrees, not realising her cat was napping underneath the clothes inside.

It wasn't until she heard a faint miaowing coming from the machine that she realised what had happened.

Horrified Courtney rushed to open the machine and a lifeless Posey spilled out with the clothes.

She told a shocked Holly and Phil: "I blew into her nose and mouth and hoped for the best, I saw her ears start flickering and I knew it was working.

"I took her to the vet and they said they'd never seen anything like it, they said they've never heard of a cat surviving what Posey went through."

To avoid a similar mishap in the future Courtney has now put a sign on the washing machine that says: "Check for cat before switching on."

Holly and Phil sent their best wishes to the family, with Phil saying: "It really is a Christmas miracle."
