Liverpool can seal 'two big name' transfers so Jurgen Klopp can follow Pep Guardiola

I think Liverpool fans can look forward to one or two big names in the transfer window this summer.

Jurgen Klopp, like he always has done, has to look for players who are as good or better than he has. No squad padding this summer.

He and sporting director Michael Edwards know how to work by now but I think Curtis Jones will make a big step up to the seniors more regularly. He is going to be a good addition who will get better and better.

Then there is Harvey Elliott who is finding his feet.

He is a little bit away from the finished product but with Xherdan Shaqiri's future in the air, could he come in do that job? Possibly.

Adam Lallana, we know, is expected to go, so Jones can easily fill in there next season while Dejan Lovren could be on the move, too, so a centre-half might be on the agenda also.

At left-back, Yasser Larouci is coming through as Neco Williams is on the right and he's making good strides the young Welshman.

Up front is probably the big area, though. At the moment, behind that three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, there is only Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino who are playing regularly.

Liverpool will need another but that one player has to be absolute top drawer. For me, there is only one who fits the bill perfectly.

That player is Timo Werner. All day long for me.

Whenever I have seen him, he looks like the one for the Reds.

For the prices you hear quoted for players, the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho, in this climate, Werner seems the ideal option.

Where else is Klopp going to strengthen? He has Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the attacking midfield area, so the squad is very settled at the minute.

I would suggest another left-back that can push Andy Robertson and a top centre-forward.

Will he go out and get a world-class attacker?

We will wait and see but Liverpool have designs to win the lot now.

Look at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola always puts his best teams out in most competitions.

In the domestic cups, their squad is strong enough to win those and they generally do.

Liverpool, the domestic cups are put on the back-burner a little bit because of Europe and the Premier League - you have to trust Klopp with what he is doing.

But if you are looking ahead to this summer then I think the fans would want two big, big signings to arrive.
