Liverpool businessman in court on drug and GBH conspiracy charges

A former health and safety business boss appeared in court charged with drug offences.

Martin Grant, 33, is a former managing director of Liverpool-based health and safety company Safety Support Consultants Limited (SSC).

He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court when he faced charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine, diamorphine, amphetamine, cannabis and mephedrone.

Martin Grant was also charged with conspiring to cause GBH to Josh Bennett and a second man.

He denied all the charges.

Liam Grant, 25, of Holland Street in Fairfield, also denied charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine, diamorphine, amphetamine and mephedrone. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cannabis.

Liam Grant denied a charge of conspiring to cause GBH to Josh Bennett and a second man.

Martin Grant is accused of being involved in a drug conspiracy between September 6, 2019 and April 27, 2021.

Liam Grant is accused of being involved in a drug conspiracy between February 5, 2020 September 30, 2021.

The alleged conspiracy to cause GBH to Josh Bennett and another man is said to have taken place between April 3, 2020 and June 2 2020.

Martin Grant, originally from the Old Swan area, joined SSC in September 2019 and resigned in January 2021.

Judge Neil Flewitt QC set a trial date of March 21.

Martin and Liam Grant, who appeared in court via a video link to HMP Altcourse, were both remanded in custody.
