Liverpool break another Premier League record with biggest ever win vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool set a new record for the club in the Premier League and top flight after thumping Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side put seven past Roy Hodgson's men without reply and surpass nearest rivals in the table on both points and goal difference after being behind by three strikes ahead of kick-off.

Not only did the Reds secure top spot for Christmas and wipe out the goals conceded by Aston Villa earlier in the season, they also set yet another record in the club's history.

The victory is the Reds' biggest win in Premier League history as they surpassed a 7-1 home win against Southampton from January 1999 .

The result is also Liverpool's record away win in top-flight history, with a 7-1 win at Derby County in 1991 the only other time they had registered seven goals away from Anfield in the English top-flight.

BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey also noted another key statistic shortly after full time - the result was the first time Liverpool had won by seven goals away from home in 106 years.

It's the latest in the line of several new milestones as the champions can't stop setting a high bar for themselves.

Last season, on the way to the title they became the team to secure the championship earlier than anyone before them with seven games to spare as well as mounting the biggest lead at the top of the table.

They also won the most home games in a season with 18 and most victories overall in a season equalling Man City's 32 from 17/18 and 18/19.
