Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's hilarious threat to 'landlord' Brendan Rodgers if Leicester fail against Man City

Jurgen Klopp has joked that he could withhold rent from Brendan Rodgers if Leicester fail to do Liverpool a favour against Man City next week.

The Liverpool boss will be desperate for the Foxes to get something when they travel to the Etihad on the penultimate weekend of the season.

Klopp rents his house from the Northern Irishman, who the German replaced in the Anfield hotseat in October 2015.

In an interview with Sky, Klopp was asked about the two former Liverpool managers who could have a say in the fate of the title.

He said: "One is still living in Liverpool (Rafa Benitez) and the other one is my landlord."

And then he was jokingly asked whether he would withhold rent should Rodgers' fail to take points off City.

He said: "Can I? In Germany that's not possible but if it is in England then tell me!

"They have to do their own job themselves and we have to do ours.

"I really have no problem that. I'm really happy about the situation.

"If they (Man City) would have lost on Wednesday night then all the questions today will have been really different and we would have had something to lose.

"We can only win, we are one point, finally, behind City.

"The best thing we can do from our side is be one point behind the last match and then play it."
