Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp runs away from Pep Guardiola to avoid awkward first meeting since beating Man City

Jurgen Klopp pretended to run away from Pep Guardiola when the pair found themselves in the same room following Liverpool's huge title race showdown win over Manchester City.

The Reds put down a big marker on Sunday with a 3-1 win at Anfield to move them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League and nine points clear of reigning champions City.

Less than 24 hours after the two managers met on the touchline, they almost came face to face again at the Uefa Elite Club Coaches Forum in Nyon.

Klopp was stopped by journalists from across Europe and asked: "Did you speak with Pep?"

Seemingly not hearing the question correctly, Klopp responds: "Pepe? Who is Pepe?"

The journalist clarifies and Klopp replies: "Of course we spoke, why shouldn't we speak? We speak constantly."

Klopp then trails off, looks over his shoulder, sees the unmistakable side profile of the City manager, turns back to the microphones and whispers: "Pep Guardiola is coming!"

Then just shoots off out of frame with a grin.
