Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reveals how Ben Woodburn, as well as Barcelona, was caught out by Divock Origi's stunning winner

Jurgen Klopp has revealed Wales youngster and Liverpool substitute Ben Woodburn didn't even see Divock Origi's stunning winner in the Reds' historic Champions League win over Barcelona at Anfield.

Liverpool trailed 3-0 after the first leg of the semi-final contest against the La Liga champions but won the second game 4-0 on Merseyside to progress into the final.

The decisive fourth goal caught Barcelona on the hop as Trent Alexander-Arnold's quickly taken corner caught was lashed home by Origi in front of the Kop to secure his side's place in the showpiece final on June 1.

But Klopp revealed after the game it wasn't just Barcelona's defence that was caught unawares. Woodburn, sitting on the Liverpool bench, had to ask Klopp what actually happened.

Klopp told BT Sport: "Barcelona defend predictable things well. But you need to be unpredictable at moments.

"I saw the ball flying in the goal, I didn’t see the corner. I didn’t see who took the corner. Ben Woodburn said ‘what happened?’"

Woodburn has not featured for Liverpool's first team this season, with his last senior appearance coming for Wales against Trinidad & Tobago in Wrexham in March, a game in which the youngster scored a stoppage time winner.

He endured a difficult loan spell with Sheffield United in the opening half of the 2018/19 season before having his time at Bramall Lane cut short.

The 19-year-old is likely to be included in Ryan Giggs' squad for Wales' upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Croatia and Hungary in June.

The Liverpool, Man Utd and Leeds United Daniel James links have provoked a big reaction from one fanbase
