Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp provides Jordan Henderson injury update ahead of West Ham clash

Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson for the game against West Ham on Monday, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Reds captain went off injured in Liverpool's 1-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with the England international suffering a hamstring problem.

He was replaced by James Milner after 80 minutes of the game in Madrid, with Klopp adding after the game that he hoped that he would not be out for too long, telling BT Sport that he was taken off as a precaution.

But Klopp has confirmed that he has now been ruled out for around three weeks, and will miss the game against West Ham at Anfield on Monday.

"It could have been worse," he said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

"It was a hamstring. You have different hamstring injuries now in Premier League, with Kane.

"He [Henderson] will be out for three weeks or so which isn't cool. But we were still lucky."

Henderson has played 34 times so far this season for Liverpool, scoring three goals.

Meanwhile, Klopp has not ruled out rotating his squad, with important games to come in the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup in the coming weeks.

"If we make changes, it will not be because of the Atletico game," he added.
