Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on defender Joel Matip ahead of his side's clash with Tottenham.
Spurs and Liverpool go head-to-head on Wednesday night with the two sides locked on 25 points at the top of the Premier League table.
Both sides slipped up on the weekend and they will be desperate to get back to winning ways in what could be an early six-pointer in the race for the title.
But Liverpool may not be helped by yet another injury concern. Klopp's men have been ravaged with injuries so far this season - centre-back Virgil van Dijk being missed more than most.
And to make matters worse, another centre-back in Matip, who has been a regular for the reigning champions this season, was forced off after 45 minutes last time out as Liverpool drew with Fulham.
Liverpool have been sweating on Matip's fitness ahead of the Tottenham clash with few options at centre-back if he is to miss the game.
But the anxious wait will continue until the 11th hour, it seems, with Klopp unable to confirm if the 29-year-old will recover in time.
"I don’t know yet. Only two days ago we played, he left the pitch with a back spasm," said Klopp in his pre-match press conference.
"The physios worked pretty much 24 hours on him, so we will see. Today we have another session and then we will see."
Liverpool are without centre-backs van Dijk and Joe Gomez for the majority of the season, while James Milner and Diogo Jota are also injured.
Tottenham will be looking to exploit Liverpool's injury issues at the back and they should be pretty well placed to do so given the form Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been in so far this season.
The clash will be huge for Spurs in their attempts to convince people of their title credentials following their bright start to the campaign, and given Liverpool's injury issues, there may not be a better time for a trip to Anfield.
