Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp outlines what he is expecting from Jose Mourinho's Tottenham side

Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he is expecting Jose's Mourinho's Tottenham side to have "some emphasis on defending" when they go head-to-head at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

Spurs go into the game on the back of one win from five games over the festive period and many are expecting their poor run of form to continue when the runaway league leaders visit the capital.

Liverpool have yet to lose in their 20 Premier League games so far this season, drawing just the one at Manchester United back in October.

The Reds are currently odds-on with the bookies to claim three points in N17 but you wouldn't rule out Mourinho having something up his sleeve to stop Klopp's team in their tracks.

The head coach has become known for parking the bus in big games previously and his counterpart is expecting Spurs to be well drilled at the back and then try to hit his side on the counter given their quality going forward.

"Expecting an organised Spurs side putting some emphasis on defending for sure, counter-attack," said the German in his pre-match press conference, as reported by the Liverpool Echo . "Team is too good technically to do just that.

"Eriksen, Alli, Lo Celso, lots of midfielders who can create with speed. Moura and Son, too. Aurier and Sessegnon have speed."

"We cannot be 100% sure what they will do but we have signs from what Mourinho did at Man United against us.

"Different teams and players though. That is normal.

"Our analysis always ends quite a way from the truth. It is the same for us, we want to be unpredictable."

With Chelsea expected to get three points from their home clash against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, Spurs may well go into the Liverpool fixture nine points behind their London rivals in the race for the top four.
