Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp met rock and roll legend ahead of Arsenal rout

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp met rock and roll legend Paul Weller in a Liverpool hotel ahead of Saturday's meeting with Arsenal.

The Reds got back to winning ways after their defeat to West Ham before the international break with a 4-0 thumping of Mikel Arteta's side at Anfield.

Earlier on Saturday, Klopp was pictured in discussion with Weller in the Liverpool team hotel, the image later shared on social media.

Weller was the city as part of his 2021 UK tour, with a show at the Olympia in Liverpool on Friday night.

The musician is well known for his time as a member of band The Jam during the 1970s and early 1980s.

He then formed a new group The Style Council from 1983 to 1989, before beginning a solo career in the early 1990s.

Merseyside music star Peter Hooton shared a picture of Weller meeting Klopp, with the caption: "Wow - when Jurgen met Weller".

Klopp's side went on to demolish the Gunner's in a dominant display that put them just four points behind league leaders Chelsea.

The Liverpool boss was pleased with his team's performance, as he said after the game: "It was a mix of a very mature performance and a very exciting [one], with very, very exciting moments and very exciting goals.

“Great counter-press, great high-press, was really good. An impressive result.”
