Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp makes Bayern Munich claim after Champions League win

Jurgen Klopp says Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has done an incredible job in his short managerial reign.

And the Liverpool manager believes the Bavarian giants made the best of a beneficial schedule to seal a superb treble.

Klopp's compatriot led Bayern to the Bundesliga title, German Cup and a sixth Champions League triumph after taking over late last year.

Flick took up the role as boss after Niko Kovac was fired last November. The Croatian was sacked following a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt which left Bayern fourth in the table.

Klopp suggested Bayern may have been best placed to win the European Cup with German football having resumed first amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to ZDF, as translated by Goal, he said: "It is difficult to write more history in eight months.

"[It was] a little lucky that, amid all the chaos with schedules, their schedule was best suited to the Champions League.”

Bayern defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in Lisbon on Sunday to complete a remarkable campaign.

And Klopp said: "[They are] at the moment definitely one of the absolute, absolute top teams. [They are] sensationally well equipped.

"They have absolute world-class players in every position, and all at the right age."
