Jurgen Klopp has hit back at Frank Lampard after the Chelsea boss criticised the behaviour of the Liverpool bench.
The Blues boss was involved in a touchline spat with the Liverpool manager during the Reds' 5-3 victory on Wednesday night.
Lampard was not happy about the free-kick in which Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled his side’s lead.
The 42-year-old remonstrated with Klopp and the Liverpool backroom staff sat on the bench before fourth official Lee Mason intervened.
A video of the interaction surfaced on social media following the match showing Lampard to have fired a few four-letter words in the direction of Klopp who informed his rival to "calm down, calm down".
And after the game on Wednesday, he said: "Some of the bench, it's a fine line between when you are winning - and they've won the league, fair play to Liverpool Football Club - but also don't get too arrogant with it.”
But Klopp responded to the claims today, saying: "You cannot hit me with something like that. We are not arrogant. Frank was in competitive mood, I respect that. Say what you want in that situation, pure emotion, he came to win.
"But what he has to learn is speaking about that after the game when the whistle has gone is not OK.
“Final whistle, as a real sportsperson...close the book and he didn't do that and that is what I don't like, honestly.
"I only speak now because he spoke afterwards."
Before adding: "I respect all other coaches. You know how outraged you can be sometimes.
"You can feel it is unfair."
