Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hails Adrian signing as the 'perfect solution' after Simon Mignolet exit

Jurgen Klopp believes he once again has two No1-quality goalkeepers at his disposal following the signing of Adrian on a free transfer.

Following confirmation of Simon Mignolet's departure to Club Brugge, Liverpool moved quickly to source a replacement in former West Ham United man Adrian - completing his signing hours later.

And, according to Klopp, the out-of-contract Spaniard's experience in the Premier League means he can create the sort of competition for places that was key to last season's successes.

“I think this is the perfect solution for us in this moment, replacing talent and experience like for like," he told Liverpool's official website.

“With Ali[sson Becker] and Simon, I felt like we had two ‘No1s’ and in many ways we have repeated that with Adrian. This is important.

“He is a ‘keeper who knows the Premier League, who has played in pressure situations and has the highest quality.

“They are big gloves to fill because Simon was such an outstanding professional and contributed to the group even when not in the starting XI.

"Everything we know about Adrian tells us he has the personal qualities to go with his clear playing talent to ensure this area of the team is not weakened.

“We’re all looking forward to working with him.”
