Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Emre Can move to Borussia Dortmund

Jurgen Klopp has described former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can as a "perfect match" for Borussia Dortmund, with the midfielder signing for the German giants on deadline day.

Can spent spent four years at Anfield, playing under Klopp for almost three seasons, and has now returned to his homeland Germany.

The 26-year-old completed a loan move to Dortmund on deadline day, with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Can was crucial in Juventus' Serie A success in his first season with the Old Lady, but quickly fell down the pecking order.

Klopp spent seven years at Dortmund, so knows a thing or two about what sort of midfielders are appreciated by the home crowd.

As well as his former midfielder, Klopp has heaped the praise on one of Europe's hottest prospects in Erling Haaland, who faced Liverpool twice in the Champions League this season for RB Salzburg.

"I am happy for BVB and Emre Can. It's a win-win situation. Emre is just a perfect match for this club," Klopp said to Bild.

"BVB got a top lad, a wonderful, versatile footballer with an outstanding attitude.

"I trust them to achieve a lot in the Ruckrunde (second half of the season) with Can and Haaland."
