Liverpool star Fabinho sends out injury message after clash of heads in Cardiff game

Fabinho has sent out a message to Liverpool fans after suffering a sickening clash of heads in the game against Cardiff.

The Brazil international was involved in an accidental collision with Cardiff City substitute Kenneth Zohore just moments after replacing Naby Keita on 71 minutes.

He lay prone for several minutes and underwent treatment before the Reds' medical staff made the decision to substitute the player just four minutes after coming on.

Jurgen Klopp reveals half-time dressing room talk that inspired Liverpool victory over Cardiff

Posting on Twitter after the game, Fabinho said: "Thanks for all the messages and concern. Everything's good and I'm very happy with our win. We'll keep fighting until the end!"

Klopp also clarified Fabinho's condition and revealed the midfielder is likely to be available for Friday's Premier League visit of Huddersfield Town.

“Fabinho should be okay, he was feeling a bit dizzy,” said the Reds boss.

James Milner explains brilliant 'old man' celebration after scoring Liverpool penalty against Cardiff

“It's in that game you need to be 100% or out, and in that moment he said he couldn't be 100% so we took him out.

“But he is fine.”

Fabinho's replacement, James Milner, went on to score from the spot to seal a 2-0 win for Liverpool that moved them back to the Premier League summit.
