Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp delivers the news that all Tottenham fans were dreading

There was mixed injury news to come out of Jurgen Klopp's Champions League final press conference on Tuesday.

The Liverpool boss confirmed that the injured Naby Keita would miss the final with an adductor injury, having failed to recover from the problem he sustained during the semi-final first leg with Barcelona.

Keita will be a huge miss for the Reds in the middle of the park, but there was good news on another front - Roberto Firmino.

Much like Keita, the Brazilian striker has been out of action since that first leg defeat to Barca, picking up a muscle injury in training.

But he will be back in time to face Tottenham in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Firmino has been a thorn in Spurs' side this season, scoring in both games that ended 2-1 in favour of the Merseysiders.

And the Spurs faithful would have been hoping to come up against a Reds side that did not feature the 27-year-old.

Klopp said during his pre-match press conference: "Bobby trained, then we took him out then he will be in training again tomorrow. All what we saw looked good. He will be fine, I'm sure."

And Klopp used Firmino's injury as a reason for being happy the Champions League is taking place three weeks after the end of the Premier League season, rather than it giving Tottenham the edge, as previously suggested by Reds legend Jamie Carragher.

He added: "Ask me if I'd rather have three days [rest] or three weeks, I take three weeks. Tottenham had injuries but they are pretty much back. Bobby could use the time before the final, too. We had a game last Saturday, an internal game, to keep the rhythm. We'll be fresher."
