Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirms timescale for Jordan Henderson injury and Xherdan Shaqiri absence

Jordan Henderson will be out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury suffered against Atletico Madrid.

The Liverpool captain left the field at the Wanda Metrapolitano Stadium towards the end of the Champions League match and said after the game he was unsure how serious it was when limping through the mixed.

The midfielder, who has been absolutely vital to the Reds success, underwent a scan this morning to work out the severity of the injury.

Manager Jurgen Klopp said: "Hendo could have been worse.

"We've heard of different hamstring injuries now around the Premier League, Harry Kane for example but it's not that bad.

"He will be out for three weeks or so which is not cool but we still see it as lucky.

"I could make changes for West Ham because apart from Hendo all the others boys are fit.

"However, Monday is usually more time than we have so we will see who will start."

Klopp also gave an update on Xherdan Shaqiri's injury.

The Swiss international has not been included in a Premier League squad for Liverpool since the Manchester United match back in mid-January.

"He is not close to team training yet, we can not put any time pressure on it," the German boss said.

"It was never a big one but big enough to keep him out for another two or three weeks.

"He is not close to team training."
