Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp blasts Uefa over Arsenal vs Chelsea Europa League final venue

It will not only be an all-English Champions League final, but an all-English Europa League final too.

After astonishing comebacks for Liverpool at Tottenham in Europe's showpiece competition, Arsenal and Chelsea secure a place in the final of the Europa League too.

The two London rivals will go head-to-head for the trophy on Wednesday, May 29.

But the venue for the final has sparked criticism from some quarters, not to mention the allocation of tickets for supporters of both English sides.

Glenn Hoddle makes bold Europa League finals prediction after Arsenal and Chelsea progress

The final will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, just the 2,800 miles from London, with the two clubs handed an allocation of just 6,000 tickets each - for a stadium that holds 69,000.

Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp only have to take their teams to Madrid and the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday, June 1, and the Liverpool boss has sympathy for those Arsenal and Chelsea supporters having to travel to Azerbaijan.

And Klopp hit out at Uefa over the choice of venue too.

"With Madrid, it is unbelievably expensive, but at least it’s not another part of the world," he admitted. "How can you have finals in Kiev and Baku?

"I don’t know what these travel guys have for breakfast. It looks irresponsible, I don't know why they do it. Last year we went to Kiev! Baku, we have no record of how to go there.

"These decisions must be much more sensible and reasonable.

"I don’t know how they do it. In the cities they get the final maybe they make a price cut that it will not be more than this in a specific category?

"A room that is usually £100 is now £2,700. I sympathise with that a lot."
