Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp backs campaign founded by Nottingham Forest heroes

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his backing to an initiative helped created by two former Nottingham Forest heroes in a wonderful personal message.

Ex-Reds goalkeeper Mark Crossley and striker Nigel Jemson have helped found the Walking's Brilliant campaign along with former Barnsley striker Jon Parkin and several other former professionals.

It was created to help to raise money and awareness for mental health by simply taking in the great outdoors to help relieve stress and anxiety.

Crossley has filmed many videos of himself walking at beautiful hotspots across the country and they have been brilliantly received on social media.

And fresh from leading Liverpool to their first top-flight title for the first time in 30 years,  Klopp took time out from his busy schedule to give his backing.

He said: "Walking is brilliant. Funnily enough I knew that already in 1995 because I wrote my piece in my sports science study about walking.

"To be honest, I had no idea at how influential it can be. Meanwhile, much older, much more walks in my legs - dog walks especially - I know much more about it.

"I hope you enjoy it too. I wish you a lot of fun. You'll never walk alone."

Crossley reacted on Twitter: "Thankyou so much, Premier League winner and a real gentleman, Jürgen Klopp, for supporting our #walkingsbrilliant group."
