Liverpool 'block' Loris Karius contract decision as Luis Diaz transfer complicated by Manchester United

We are now a week into the January transfer window and rumours are heating up as far as Liverpool and making recruitments are concerned.

Reds fans have been excited to see their side linked with some exciting names as Liverpool still have a chance in all four trophies this season.

Liverpool are in FA Cup action on Sunday at home to League One side Shrewsbury Town and it looks as though the Reds will be severely depleted due to Covid.

The report claims that Liverpool may block a transfer for Karius this month because they are not willing to pay out on the final few months of his contract.

Karius hasn't played a competitive match for Liverpool since the 2018 Champions League final loss to Real Madrid in Kyiv.

The Catalan outlet reports that Manchester City are set to rival Liverpool for Real Madrid midfielder Valverde.

The 23-year-old has made 123 appearances for the Spanish giants, but it is reported that he is worried about his future at the club.

With the Reds failing to replace Gini Wijnaldum in the summer, they could be in the market for a new midfielder to refresh the middle of the pitch and Valverde could be that man.
