Liverpool beat Chelsea to Timo Werner, Man City eye Kai Havertz - latest Premier League rumours

English football has been rocked to the core by the outbreak of coronavirus, with all action suspended until June at the earliest.

But despite no games being played, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from continuing with the latest transfer tittle-tattle.

With that in mind, here are the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

Chelsea, Man United & Leicester in for Coutinho

Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester have all reportedly contacted Philippe Coutinho's agent ahead of a summer move.

That is according to Mundo Deportivo , who claim Frank Lampard’s side remain the Brazilian's preferred choice but Newcastle have also unofficially registered an interest.

The 27-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona, but the German giants will not be exercising their option to make his move a permanent one.

Leicester lead Lallana chase

Leicester City lead the chase for Liverpool's Adam Lallana this summer.

The former England midfielder is a free agent at the end of the season and there's no shortage of clubs interested.

West Ham, Everton, Arsenal and Crystal Palace would all like to see if they can strike a deal with the 32-year-old, but the Daily Star claims the Foxes have the edge due to manager Brendan Rodgers.

City eye Havertz

Manchester City have joined the £70m transfer race for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

The 20-year-old has been one of the standout stars in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 12 goals already including two on Monday against Werder Bremen.

And City have joined that extensive list of clubs chasing his signature this summer, with Pep Guardiola understood to be a huge admirer of his talents, according to The Sun .

Werner deal 'happening'

BILD's Head of Football Christian Falk thinks Timo Werner will complete a transfer from RB Leipzig to Liverpool this summer.

Falk told LFC Transfer Room : “According to our information, the clause is 55million euros as a base value and can grow to 60million if RB Leipzig makes it into the Champions League.

“And yes, I think this transfer is happening. Interestingly, Werner now has a new Social Media and Marketing agency.

“The boss of this agency is also Jurgen Klopp’s manager. Werner is also talking a lot about Liverpool in the public eye now too."
