Extreme weather hit Liverpool today as hailstones came crashing down in many parts of the city.
In a video shared with the ECHO, hailstones can be seen falling from the sky in a Liverpool street, hitting parked cars and house rooftops.
The footage was captured in south Liverpool, however many other areas of the city were hit by the freak storm.
Huge bangs of thunder could also be heard leaving many people across the city stunned, despite it only being September.
The crazy and unexpected weather brought people out on social media with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the storm.
One said: “Jeez the size of them hailstones”
Another added: “Would love to say this is snow but its #hailstones ”
A third said: “I see a ray of sunshine, it’s pouring down here with hailstone in Liverpool”
