Liverpool bar's quirky way of pouring fresh pints on your doorstep during lockdown

A Liverpool bar has come up with a quirky way of serving cold beer on your doorstep during lockdown.

The Dog House Penny Lane closed its doors in March when people were told not to go to bars and restaurants to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

But during lockdown many hospitality businesses have launched delivery and click and collect services to help keep going.

Earlier this month, The Dog House Penny Lane became the latest to announce a new delivery service - and this one comes with a twist.

The owners have transformed a van into a makeshift bar on wheels. This means they can drive to homes nearby and pour fresh pints on the doorstep, while sticking to social distancing guidelines and wearing PPE.

The service has proved so popular that slots for its first weekend in business were snapped up and it is fully booked again this weekend, with staff set to head out and pour pints of Guinness, Mahour and Peroni. Minimum spend is £10 and delivery is within a two mile radius. People who’d like to order, must send a message to 07786 980446.

The service has gone down well with fans. One follower on Instagram said: “You guys have Mahou crying of happiness!!!”

Another added: “This is amazing” and someone else said: “THIS IS BOSS!!”
