A Liverpool-based Brazilian jazz band have joined up with some famous faces to bring people together and raise money for local families in need during the pandemic.
While unable to perform due to current lockdown restrictions, Baiana wanted to bring people together virtually to have a dance and also raise money for Knowsley Kitchen, who are giving local families in need access to fresh food during Covid-19 and beyond.
The band now want to see people across Merseyside get involved in their 'Pass the Pineapple' virtual challenge and spread the word, alongside stars including John Barnes, John Bishop, Simon Rimmer and Louis Saha.
The challenge involves filming yourself catching and passing a pineapple or other piece of fruit across the screen, which each video acting as a pledge to donate £5 to Knowsley Kitchen.
Baiana's Laura Doyle said: "One of my favourite things about performing is seeing people's faces when they are having fun, so I thought I have to find a way to get people dancing to our songs even though we can't perform at the moment.

"We adore this city and so the chance to help out an amazing charity like Knowsley Kitchen and support the work they are doing in such a fun way has made what could have been a really awful time for artists like myself be worthwhile."
Knowsley Kitchen began by delivering 15 food boxes at the beginning of March to residents in the borough.
It has since grown and brought seasonal produce to hundreds of doorsteps, from those shielding and unable to get out to shops to families feeling the financial constraints of the pandemic.
Inspired by a discussion between Lucy Antal of Alchemic Kitchen and Dave Critchley, executive chef at Lu Ban and founder of Liverpool Independent Delivery Service (LIDS), a collective of groups across the community came together to build the sustainable food network and respond to the needs of the community.
People are being asked to share a video of themselves passing a pineapple - or any fruit they have to hand - from one side of the screen to another and tag @BaianaBand on social media.
