The Liverpool team that won the Champions League was a different side to the one that started the competition.
That's according to the Reds' assistant boss Pepijn Lijnders, who has provided some insight into what the Liverpool coaching staff are trying to achieve at Anfield.
Liverpool's 2018-19 campaign saw them start in Group C, where they finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain to qualify for the knock-out stages.
The Reds beat Bayern Munich in the last-16 before seeing off Porto in the quarters.
Liverpool's biggest test came in the semi-finals, when they were drawn against Barcelona and subsequently battered 3-0 at the Nou Camp.

But the Reds rallied to pull off one of the greatest results in football history to beat the La Liga giants 4-0 at Anfield to progress to the final.
Liverpool again came out on top against Premier League rivals Tottenham in the final.
Explaining the development of the Liverpool squad over the course of last year's competition, Lijnders told the Liverpool website: "I always said the team that started the Champions League campaign last year is not the team who won it.
"The team really made steps constantly, players individually made steps constantly.
"That is of course satisfying and that's how it should be. But it only comes because we focus each day on the process; we win but it's a logical result of planning and preparation."
