Liverpool and Wolves starlets shine as Aaron Ramsey returns - the Wales bulletin that will please Ryan Giggs

Wales were handed a boost ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifiers with Azerbaijan and Hungary as Aaron Ramsey returned to action for Juventus.

The 28-year-old was forced to pull out of the most recent fixtures with Slovakia and Croatia due to injury meaning he has not played for his country since the 1-0 friendly defeat to Albania in November last year.

But he came on in the 61st minute of Juve's 2-1 Serie A victory over Genoa on Wednesday night for what was his first appearance for the Italian giants since the opening day of October.

And there were plenty of other positives for Ryan Giggs in midweek.

Ethan Ampadu made his debut for RB Leipzig as a substitute in their 6-1 win over Wolfsburg.

The central midfielder played the final 18 minutes of the game at the Volkswagen Arena, although he did pick up a booking.

made his first team bow for Liverpool in their enthralling Carabao Cup fourth round win over Arsenal at Anfield.

The Wrexham-born right-back played the full 90 minutes as the Reds secured a dramatic penalty shootout victory over the Gunners following an incredible 5-5 draw in regular time.

Centre-back James Chester returned to Aston Villa's matchday squad for the Villans' cup triumph against Wolves having not played since January. And in the same fixture, midfielder Chem Campbell became Wolves' second youngest player ever as he made his first team bow for Nuno Espirito Santo's men.

Elsewhere, Daniel James helped Manchester United overcome Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with the Red Devils beating Frank Lampard's side 2-1, although Gareth Bale sat out Real Madrid's 5-0 thrashing of Leganes.

Giggs announces his squad for the crucial November double header at 11am on Tuesday.

Swansea City's Joe Rodon, Oxford United's Ben Woodburn and Charlton Athletic's Jonny Williams have all been ruled out due to injury while the double header is likely to come too soon for Bournemouth's David Brooks.

Wales take on Azerbaijan in Baku on November 16 before hosting Hungary at Cardiff City Stadium three days later.

Joe Allen is suspended for the clash with Azerbaijan after collecting three bookings in Wales' qualifying campaign so far.
