Liverpool and Nike have launched new special edition 'fourth' kit

Liverpool have this morning launched a new Nike Air Max Collection - including a new fourth kit.

Reports began to emerge over the last few weeks that the club was set to launch a fourth kit before the month was out.

And now images have been released showing the Reds’ new fourth shirt, available now from Liverpool FC's official online store, with skipper Jordan Henderson on modelling duty.

The Liverpool Air Max Collection is Air Max inspired and is an extension to the third club collection that was released by Nike in September 2020.

The special edition jersey has been inspired by the timeless Air Max 90 OG colourway, and will see performance apparel paired with Air Max DNA .

The classic Nike Air logo replaces the traditional Nike logo, with pinstripe lines running down bringing a fresh take on the shirt.

This is complimented with a full lifestyle collection through a colourway that Nike believe has a strong visual connection to the city.

The Reds are in their first season with their new supplier, with Nike’s offerings for the home, away and third kits for the 2020/21 campaign already available to buy.

However, it is worth noting that the shirt won’t be worn by the Reds during a competitive game, and instead the jersey is part of a lifestyle collection for off pitch purposes only, with new items including a tracksuit part of the range.

The Reds are one of three Premier League clubs to release a new Nike Air Max kit today, alongside Chelsea and Tottenham.

Speaking when partnership between Liverpool and Nike was announced back in January of last year, Bert Hoyt of the company said: “Liverpool Football Club has such a proud heritage and strong identity.

“The partnership with Liverpool underscores our leadership in global football, and with the club’s passionate world-wide fan base and strong legacy of success, they have a very bright future ahead.

"We look forward to partnering with them to serve players and supporters with Nike innovation and design."
