Liverpool and Manchester United 'offered' Everton target as potential Luis Diaz solution emerges

Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League clubs that have been "offered" the chance to sign Atletico Madrid forward and reported Everton target Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian has struggled to build on his impressive first season at the Wanda Metropolitano and failed to score for Diego Simeone's side so far this term. In his first season in the Spanish capital after his switch from Hertha Berlin, Cunha returned six goals and six assists in 29 La Liga outings.

However, reports earlier this month have named Goodison Park as a potential new home for the forward, who Atletico Madrid are said to be keen to get off their hefty wage bill. Wolverhampton Wanderers are also said to be interested, with the Brazilian forward keen to work with the newly-appointed Julen Lopetegui.

But 90min are now reporting that Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United have also been offered a chance to sign the 23-year-old attacker this winter, who is said to be considering all of his options ahead of looking to finalise a move away from Atletico in January.

"Cunha is interested in working with Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui but sources have confirmed to 90min that he wants to explore all his options before making a final decision," read a report. "Indeed, Cunha's representatives have been contacted by Aston Villa, Everton and Leeds, all of whom are actively trying to strike a deal for the Brazilian.

"In searching for a new club, Cunha's entourage have also offered the 23-year-old to Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United, and thanks to the club-friendly nature of the deal, many of the sides contacted have yet to rule out a move."

Last week Liverpool received the devastating news that they could be without Luis Diaz until March after the forward suffered a fresh injury setback during the latest stage of his rehabilitation and was subsequently sent back to Merseyside, where he underwent successful surgery earlier this week.

The Reds are also without Diogo Jota, who is expected to be out of action until February after suffering a calf injury in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City on October 16.

During his time in Spain, Cunha has played across all three forward positions for Simeone's side.
