A supercomputer has attempted to predict where Liverpool will finish in the Premier League this season.
The Reds are gearing up for the new campaign, which begins this weekend against Fulham. Liverpool take on the newly-promoted outfit at Craven Cottage, with all of their pre-season fixtures now completed.
Jurgen Klopp’s side go into this weekend’s match on the back of a double headers which saw Liverpool play two matches in consecutive days. A more experienced outfit beat Manchester City 3-1 in the Community Shield, while a team featuring mostly youngsters suffered a 3-0 defeat to French club Strasbourg.

With the new season just a few days away, a website has attempted to predict how the final table will look. Respected statistics and analysis website FiveThirtyEight has forecast the final standings in the Premier League this season, based on a complex model which takes into account a host of factors.
They have crunched the numbers and predicted that Liverpool will, once again, finish as runners-up in the league table. With 80 points, the Reds have been tipped to be behind only Manchester City, who are predicted to amass 85 points.
Should this prediction come true, it would be Liverpool’s second lowest points total over the past four seasons. The 2020/21 campaign saw the Reds reach a 69-point total, and have amassed more than 90 points in each of the other three seasons since 2018/19.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are the other teams predicted to make up the Champions League places. Fifth place is tipped to go to Arsenal, while sixth place goes to Manchester United.
At the other end of the table, all three newly-promoted clubs – Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest – are predicted to be relegated. Everton, who came close to dropping to the Championship last term, are tipped to finish 15th.
