Liverpool and Man City handed new dates for key Premier League title race fixtures

The Premier League has confirmed when Liverpool and Manchester City will play two rearranged fixtures as the race for the title goes to the wire.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds will visit Southampton on Tuesday May 17 for a match that will be televised live on Sky Sports. Kick off is at 7.45pm. The game will be staged just three days after Liverpool's FA Cup final appearance against Chelsea at Wembley.

But before the final is even played, Manchester City will travel to the midlands to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday May 11, in what will be an 8.15pm kick off, also shown live on Sky Sports.

Liverpool will now play two games a week until the end of the season. The Reds are just a point behind table-toppers Manchester City with five games remaining each. The Reds were due to face Southampton on Sunday May 15, but the fixture has had to be moved back to accommodate their progression to the FA Cup Final.

The Merseyside club continues to fight for major honours on three fronts, and having already won the Carabao Cup this campaign, can still complete an unprecedented quadruple of major trophies in a single season.
