Liverpool and Man City fans can't believe ex-midfielder's transfer claim about Tottenham star

Danny Murphy claims Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would walk into the Manchester City and Liverpool teams.

The former Reds midfielder says Kane would even displace Roberto Firmino in Jurgen Klopp's table-topping side.

Kane scored a first half hat-trick for England in Thursday's 7-0 win over Montenegro to take his international tally to 11 goals in nine games.

And Murphy believes Liverpool and Manchester City would both take Kane “with open arms”.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy said: “Would Liverpool and Man City fans take Harry Kane now?

“I think Harry Kane would get in Liverpool’s team ahead of Firmino. He would score more goals.

“I love Firmino, but he’s not Harry Kane. And with Aguero being nearly 32, I think Man City fans would welcome Harry Kane with open arms.

“Are Spurs going to make the top four? I don’t think so. Are they going to win the Champions League? No.

“What would he cost? That’s another question.

“It could be a world record, he’s got a phenomenal goal record.”

Liverpool and Manchester City supporters took to social media to respond to Murphy's claim, with many Reds fans believing that Kane would not be an improvement on Firmino.
