Liverpool and Everton Women handed incredible League Cup draw

Everton and Liverpool Women's teams have been drawn to face each other in this season's Continental League Cup.

The draw for the 2020/21 competition took place on Tuesday and saw the Merseyside rivals pitted against each other.

Willie Kirk's and Vicky Jepson's teams will also face off with north west rivals Manchester City and Manchester United who make up a competitive Group C.

The competition, which will see all six group winners advance into the quarter-finals along with the two best placed runners-up, will commence on October 7 with full fixture details for the group stages to be released at a later date.

Everton, who finished sixth in last season's Women's Super League campaign, will be looking to build on that as the 2020/21 season gets underway this Sunday with a trip to Bristol City awaiting them.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, who were relegated to the Women’s Championship last term, will begin their fight for WSL promotion against Durham on Sunday afternoon.
