Liverpool and Everton fans delayed after naked man 'puts testicles on car bonnet'

A naked man put his testicles on a car bonnet in front of shocked drivers, causing delays ahead of the Merseyside Derby.

Police detained the man, who was described as being in his late 20s, at 4pm on West Derby Road in Tuebrook, and have taken him to hospital as a precaution.

Premier League leaders Liverpool play host to neighbours Everton at Anfield this Wednesday, and the incident caused delays on roads already busy with traffic.

An eye-witness told the Liverpool ECHO: "I honestly can't believe I have seen that driving home. I was driving along the stretch by Iceland and he was running along the carriageway.

"I thought he was wearing a beige outfit to be honest. But then he ran out in front of a line of traffic.

"He put his parts on the bonnet of the car next to me. I have never seen anything like it.

"Everyone was beeping, I drove past him and when I looked back, he was bent over with his bottom in the air looking between his legs at the traffic."

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "Patrols attended and detained the man who has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

"The man has not been detained under the Mental Health Act."

Struggling Everton couldn't be facing high-flying Liverpool at a worst time in the season, with Marco Silva's men without a win in the league since October 19.

Last time out the Toffees were beaten by Leicester City, with VAR awarding a last-gasp goal to keep the Foxes on Liverpool's tail.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds, meanwhile, are yet to lose in the league this season and beat Brighton last time out.
