Alexis Mac Allister has named Tottenham defender Cristian Romero as the one player he’d like to see join Liverpool.
The pair are teammates at international level, enjoying great success together with the Argentina national team in recent years having won the World Cup and two Copa Americas.

It’s a partnership Mac Allister is keen to see extend to club level after making a bold claim about Romero amid responding to a question from the Argentine media with regards to which player he would like to sign for Liverpool.
He said: “Oh, Cuti [Romero]. He’s a player I love. The way he speaks and plays, sometimes you feel like he’s too much because he makes everything so easy.
“He gives me confidence. For me, he’s been the best centre-back in the world for several years.”
Unfortunately for Mac Allister, he is unlikely to be joined at Liverpool by Romero anytime soon - even if the central defender has been linked with a move away from Spurs.
Following Tottenham’s Europa League final win over Manchester United which ended their 17-year trophy drought as well as qualifying for the Champions League, it would appear Romero is keen to stay put.
In a post on social media, he wrote: “We achieved what we wanted this season as a group, and that's what matters.
“And….My name is part of the history of this beautiful club
“I want to thank you all for the love and support every day despite everything, but I have no doubt that staying together led us to success.
“We must continue, this is the path.”
