Liverpool have agreed a deal with Wolves over the sale of Ki-Jana Hoever.
The Reds will receive an initial sum of £9million for the young Dutchman with a further £4.5m in add-ons.
The champions have also agreed a 15 per cent sell-on clause for a player they have always rated highly in the Academy ranks.
Hoever had been earmarked as a long-term option at either right or centre-back in the Liverpool defence, but the emergence of Neco Williams last term pushed his colleague further down the pecking order.
Hoever became the third youngest player in Liverpool history when he made his Reds debut at Wolves in an FA Cup tie in January 2019, but over 18 months on, the youngster has made just four appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side.
None of those have come in the Premier League and with Trent Alexander-Arnold thriving as arguably the most complete right-back in European football, Hoever knew his chances would be minimal.
After making it known he wanted a clear pathway to first-team football and with Williams moving ahead of him as Alexander-Arnold's deputy, the club agreed to let Hoever leave.
Juventus and Atletico Madrid both expressed an interest but opted not to follow up their contact with a firm offer for the 18-year-old.
Liverpool see Wolves as the perfect fit for Hoever's next step with their five-man defence suited to the former Ajax teen's playing style.
Anfield insiders are disappointed to lose Hoever, a player who tracked extensively before he brought to the club from Ajax in 2018, but Liverpool feel they are banking a sizable sum for a player whose first-team experience was limited.
