Liverpool accept £7m Rangers bid for Ryan Kent after successful loan spell

Liverpool have accepted a £7million bid for winger Ryan Kent from Rangers.

The 22-year-old is set to travel up to Glasgow on Monday to complete the formalities of a move, with Scottish clubs having until midnight to complete summer signings.

Kent spent last season on loan at Ibrox, scoring six goals in 27 league appearances. However, his parent club were unwilling to sanction another temporary departure this term, preferring to hold out for a permanent move.

That has eventually materialised despite Rangers’ initial attempts to strike a loan deal.

Steven Gerrard made no secret of his desire to bring Kent back to Scotland and looks likely to have finally got his man for £7m. The news is a timely boost for Gers fans following their Old Firm defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

Liverpool have also agreed to sell wantaway youth team star Bobby Duncan to Fiorentina.

Duncan will travel to Italy on Monday to undergo a medical after a deal worth €2m (£1.7m) was agreed between the two clubs.

Liverpool have also secured a 20 per cent sell-on clause as part of their agreement with the Serie A side.
