Liverpool have acquired a "pressing monster" in Diogo Jota whose technical ability has been hailed as being on a par with their established frontline.
Jota became the fourth-most expensive signing in the Reds' history when on Saturday he moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an initial fee of £41million.
The 23-year-old is in line for his debut when Jurgen Klopp's side begin their Carabao Cup campaign with a third round tie at League One side Lincoln City on Thursday evening.
And Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, who first encountered Jota while working with Porto earlier in his career, has no doubt the forward will provide competition for Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
"Diogo's technical level is the same as our front three," he said. "He has so much future is in his feet, and he will have a great pathway inside our club.
"He is like a pressing monster so will fit in straight away.
"I have known him since he was very young. He is from the city of Porto. He grew up in Gondomar, a smaller club. We played against him I think when he was younger, then he came through at Pacos Ferreira.
"In Portugal they are saying what a great signing Liverpool have made, because they know exactly how he is and what kind of potential he still has.
"As I say, he is a pressing monster and will really fit into our style. We are really happy with him, and all the things we heard are true. He is a very professional, very dedicated, passionate, brave player."
Lijnders has also explained in further detail the importance of signing Thiago Alcantara, who arrived the day before Jota in an initial £20m deal from Bayern Munich and impressed as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 Premier League win at Chelsea on Sunday.
"Good teams need good players and we are really happy that he is with us because this team deserves a player like him," said Lijnders.

"He will make sure we keep evolving. Teams adapt, teams try to destroy our plans and it's most important that we stay unpredictable.

"Unpredictability means that from each position we can play the last pass, we can speed up the game as much as we can.
"Thiago does that for us. He is a great signing.
"We didn't buy a problem - we bought a solution."
