Mohamed Salah scored a Champions League brace as Liverpool beat RB Salzburg 4-3 at Anfield despite blowing a three-goal lead on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool claimed the lead with eight minutes on the clock as Sadio Mane broke the deadlock, and Andy Robertson doubled their advantage after 25 minutes in a move which he started and finished.
Salah put the Reds three up not long after, but Salzburg pulled a goal back through Hwang Hee-chan six minutes before half-time. Hwang then turned provider after the break, finding an unmarked Takumi Minamino and he volleyed past Adrian.
Things got much worse for Liverpool just minutes after prolific young striker Erling Braut Haaland had come on as a substitute. Minamino slid the ball across the six-yard box from the right and Haaland stood alone at the far post where he steered the ball home to make it 3-3 with an hour on the clock.
But Liverpool were back in front less than 10 minutes later when Firmino again provided the opening. The Brazilian's cushioned header set up the chance and Salah got behind the Salzburg defence to finish in style and make it 4-3.
