Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah have fired Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League with a thumping victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.
Liverpool, having seen Man City usurp them at the top of the table in midweek, responded in impressive fashion to move three points clear ahead of City’s clash with Chelsea at the Etihad on Sunday.
Mane opened the scoring on 24 minutes before an exquisite lobbed finish from Wijnaldum doubled their lead before the interval.
Salah scored his 49th Premier League goal for Liverpool to extend their lead further after the break, to put the pressure back on Pep Guardiola’s side.
City are in against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. A win will see Pep Guardiola's side return to the summit of English football again having played a game more than their rivals.
Liverpool travel to arch-rivals Manchester United in their next Premier League outing on February 24.
